Cookie Policy

Last updated: 3 Oct, 2026.

This cookie policy explains how the online store The Little Night, operated by Kyronix Labs LLC, uses cookies and comparable tracking technologies when you visit our site and place an order. It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, and the choices you have to accept, refuse, or set them at any time.

This policy is written in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the so-called "ePrivacy" directive, and the guidelines and recommendations of the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL). It complements our privacy policy, which describes in more general terms how we process your personal data.

1. What is a cookie (and similar trackers)?

A cookie is a small text file placed and stored on your device (computer, tablet, phone) by the browser you use when you visit a website. It lets the site recognize your device, remember certain information about your browsing, and give you a continuous, secure experience, for example by keeping the contents of your cart from one page to the next.

The word "cookie" is used here in a broad sense. It also covers so-called "similar" trackers, which pursue comparable purposes without necessarily taking the form of a classic file. These include, in particular, browser local storage technologies (for example local storage and session storage), invisible pixels (also called "tracking pixels" or web beacons), and identifiers stored on the device. In the rest of this document, the word "cookie" means all of these technologies.

A distinction is generally made between first-party cookies, set by the site you visit, and third-party cookies, set by other organizations through that site. A distinction is also made between session cookies, which disappear when you close the browser, and persistent cookies, which remain stored on your device for a set period or until you delete them.

2. Why we use cookies

We use cookies so that our store works properly and to improve your shopping experience. Depending on their nature, these cookies serve several purposes, which we describe below.

  • Allow the essential operation of the site, including remembering your cart, keeping your browsing session, and completing payment.
  • Secure browsing and payment, in particular protection against fraud and unauthorized access attempts during checkout.
  • Remember your preferences so you do not have to enter them again on each visit, for example certain display choices.
  • Measure the site's audience and understand, in statistical terms, how it is used, so we can keep improving it.
  • Where applicable, measure the effectiveness of our communications and adapt our messages, when you have consented.

3. The categories of cookies we use

Cookies set on our site fall into four main categories. Only strictly necessary cookies are set without first collecting your consent. All other categories are activated only after you have made a choice.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the site to work and for providing the service you request. They cannot be switched off, because without them the store could not function, in particular for placing an order. They do not require your consent, in accordance with the regulations. They are used, for example, to:

  • keep the contents of your cart from one page to the next;
  • keep your browsing session active during your visit;
  • secure checkout and payment of your order;
  • detect and prevent fraudulent activity or abnormal behavior during payment;
  • remember, when the law requires it, the state of your cookie choices so we do not ask you on every page.

Audience measurement cookies (statistics)

These cookies help us understand how visitors use the site, in an aggregated and statistical way: the most viewed pages, browsing paths, and difficulties encountered. They let us improve the store's usability and content. They are set only with your consent. They are used, for example, to:

  • count the number of visitors and page views;
  • know the sources of traffic to the site;
  • measure the performance of different pages and identify what to improve;
  • produce traffic statistics, without trying to identify you personally.

Refusing these cookies has no effect on your ability to browse and order: you can place an order without accepting them.

Functional cookies

These cookies improve your browsing comfort by remembering choices and preferences beyond what is strictly necessary. They are set only with your consent. They are used, for example, to:

  • keep certain display preferences;
  • remember information you have entered so you do not have to enter it again;
  • adapt certain interface elements to how you use the site, so your path is smoother.

Marketing cookies

These cookies may be used to measure the effectiveness of our communications and, where applicable, to offer you content suited to your interests. They are set only with your consent. They are used, for example, to:

  • measure the effectiveness of our communication campaigns;
  • limit how often the same message is shown to you and adapt our messages;
  • understand, in an aggregated way, the actions that lead to a visit or an order.

If we do not run communications that require such cookies, this category stays inactive on the site.

4. Cookies set by Shopify (store and payment)

Our store and payment system run on the Shopify platform. Shopify therefore sets cookies so the store can work, the cart can be managed, and payment can be secured. The great majority of these cookies are strictly necessary: they are essential so you can add items to your cart, reach checkout, and pay for your order securely. Among these cookies, for example:

  • a cart cookie (for example cart), which remembers the items you have added;
  • checkout session and security cookies (for example _secure_session_id), which secure the payment step;
  • technical cookies of the platform (prefixed by _shopify_), used for the proper operation of the store and, where applicable, for internal statistics;
  • cookies that help prevent fraud and guarantee the integrity of the order.

Depending on your settings and choices, Shopify may also set cookies related to audience measurement or other purposes that require consent. Those cookies are then activated only after your agreement has been collected. To learn more about Shopify's role in processing your data, you can consult our privacy policy.

5. Third-party cookies

Some cookies may be set by third parties, meaning organizations other than The Little Night, through our site. This is the case in particular for the technical providers that host and operate the store and payment, and, where applicable, audience measurement or communication tools we might use.

These third parties may set their own cookies and access them when you browse our site, in accordance with their own policies. Third-party cookies that require consent are set only after your agreement has been collected. We try to limit the use of third-party cookies to what is strictly necessary and to favor solutions that respect your privacy.

6. How long cookies are kept

A cookie's lifetime varies according to its nature and purpose. Some cookies expire as soon as you close your browser; others remain stored on your device for a set period. In line with CNIL recommendations:

  • session cookies, such as those that keep your cart or your session, are deleted at the end of your visit or shortly afterward;
  • the consent you give for cookies is kept for a maximum of six months, so your choice is remembered without asking you on every visit;
  • cookies that require consent, in particular audience measurement cookies, have a lifetime that does not exceed thirteen months, and the information collected through them is not kept beyond twenty-five months;
  • at the end of these periods, your consent is requested again and the cookies concerned are, where applicable, set again.

You can delete cookies already set at any time through your browser settings, as described below.

7. Your consent

Except for cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work, no cookie is set on your device without your prior consent. On your first visit, an information tool lets you accept or refuse, by category, the setting of cookies that require consent. Refusing is as simple as accepting.

Your consent is free, specific, informed, and unambiguous. Until you have made a choice, or if you refuse, only strictly necessary cookies are used. You can change your mind at any time and withdraw your consent as easily as you gave it, by changing your preferences or by deleting cookies from your browser. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of cookies set before that withdrawal.

8. How to manage or refuse cookies

You have several ways to control cookies. You can first state your choices using the cookie management tool shown on the site. You can then configure your browser to accept, refuse, or delete cookies. Each browser has its own settings, generally available from its help or settings menu:

  • Google Chrome:"Settings" menu, then "Privacy and security", then "Cookies and other site data".
  • Mozilla Firefox:"Settings" menu, then "Privacy & Security", under "Cookies and Site Data".
  • Apple Safari:"Settings" or "Preferences" menu, then the "Privacy" tab.
  • Microsoft Edge:"Settings" menu, then "Cookies and site permissions".

Please note that blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary cookies, can prevent the store from working properly and can stop you from placing an order. Refusing audience measurement, functional, or marketing cookies does not in any way prevent you from browsing the site or completing a purchase.

9. Link with the privacy policy

Cookies can lead to the processing of personal data. This cookie policy focuses on tracking technologies and the choices that relate to them. For complete information on the nature of the data processed, the purposes pursued, the recipients, the retention periods, and the rights you have (right of access, rectification, erasure, objection, and so on), please consult our privacy policy. 10. Changes to the cookie policy

We may change this cookie policy, in particular to reflect technical or regulatory developments, or the tools we use. Any change takes effect as soon as it is published on this page. The date of the last update, shown at the top of this document, tells you when the current version was established. Please check this page regularly so you stay informed about how we use cookies.
